Invited by the United States Department of Education, Roger Weaver joined three other educational leaders from the independent school world in Washington D.C. in September 2011 to do a presentation for the Office of Non Public Education and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan on the topic of the public purpose of private schools. Consisting of a panel presentation and Q & A with Secretary Duncan, the event was part of a daylong meeting of educators who had practical experience in successful work with non-independent schools through innovative collaborative programs that support students and teachers primarily in Title I schools.
